Wo Pure Steel drauf steht, ist purer Metal drin. Das dürfte sich in den einschlägigen Kreisen inzwischen herumgesprochen haben. So langen auch die Hessen DRAGONSFIRE selbstredend in die traditionelle Ecke, wobei vor allem GRAVE DIGGER, REBELLION und hier und da etwas RUNNING WILD-Riffing als grober Vergleich herhalten dürften. Aber die Band versprüht ihr eigenes Flair, was vor allem bei "Bruning for Metal" durchschlägt, einem Loblied auf die alten Tage. Wobei mir bei DRAGONSFIRE die etwas getragenen Nummern wie "Rebellion" und "Oath of Allegiance" genauso gut gefallen, wie die üblichen schnellen Banger á la "Dragonsfire Rockxxx", zu dem die Band übrigenseinen total kultigen Videoclip gedreht hat (kann man sich auf www.dragonsfire.de ansehen). Wer auf VIRON und DEJA VU steht, sollte DRAGONSFIRE auf jeden Fall anchecken, trotz des doofen Covers! Kai Wollwert (9 Punkte) |

Germany has always been faithful to true metal, and Dragonsfire are no exception. These 4 wayward warriors are truly alive, wired, and burning for metal. Come join their crusade, because they deliver that classic sound, we all celebrate and prefer.
It is no wonder they are signed with Pure Steel Records - the home to Sencirow, In Solitude, Titan Steele, and soon new CDs by Razor Fist and Zandelle. Fans of Manowar, Hammerfall, Wizard, Rebellion, Venom, Twisted Sister, and even Hysterica, will be banging their head to this - 'Vision of fire', guaranteed. When I hear the music, I'm reminded of Nordheim from Brazil, without the gruff vocal allusions. Fans of Hellish War and Steel Warrior will also enjoy this. The terror riff antics, and thrash tendencies will appease fans of Abattoir, Ruthless, Armored Saint and Exumer.
Bassist and vocalist Torsten Thassilo Herbert has that heavy, thick accent textured tone. He is easily understandable, but he clearly resonates with a Teutonic steel range. He resounds the baneful guise of Thorsten "Buddy" Kohlrausch of Dark at Dawn, the piercing presence of Attila Dorn of Powerwolf, or the artful war cry of Joakim Broden of Sabaton.
The CD gets underway with "Devil's road" allowing for the fact that listening to Dragonsfire will take you down the highway to hell. The Motorhead banging aggression of "Dragonsfire rockxxx" is freakin' awesome! The band's entertaining video, which can currently be viewed on their Myspace page (and at You Tube) is totally sweet! I am thrilled to gander and gaze upon all the hot chicks singing the words, while Torsten's burning blowtorch and pounding jackhammer juxtaposition just makes it pure metal, forged in fire. "Burning for metal" is the epitome of pure steel, a sonic aged attack on the senses and mettle mind. After all, "You can't stop rock 'n roll"!
The anti-authority, anti-institution imputation of "Rebellion - The kingdom of heaven" will get your dander up, but create no cause for conflict. The never surrender triumphant quality of "Defendant" is faithful to the noble cause of the metal fan. "Shine on" is acceptable, but not too meritorious. "The other one" is a galling power ballad, save its Iron Maiden epic qualities. "Oath of allegiance" is a most befitting anthem which brings the CD to a powerful close. The acoustic denouement in the last minute of repose is so emotionally suggestive and passionate.
The guitar tandem shredding of Timo Rauscher and Matthias Bludau heeds and hears the call, "Let there be metal for all!" The CD may not instantly blow you away, but it will have you singing along with a metallic cadence. So come join the metal clan, the allied forces who rally your allegiance to the vibrant spirit of the 80s. You are sure to keep your belief that metal will never die!
I recommend this for the old-school Keep it True enthusiasts. As the band so aptly assets, Dragonsfire rocks everyday, just push play! These dudes definitely all play on 10!

Dragonsfire, Visions of fire an album from pure steel records which was a positive surprise one of the best albums we have reviewed up to now to epicmetal.net this album is full of power and epic atmosphere , the sound of steel and metal are all over the place Great metal riffs throughout the album, melodic, and a great Vocalist with a thrash metal voice (similar to skyclad's vocalist) which however matches perfectly with the band. the album contents 9 songs. we liked many of the songs of this album. the Devils Road was a great way to open a great album like that, the wings of death strarts with a great riff and in supplemented by a great melody followed in all the song!! the Dragonsfire Rockxxx is one of the best songs of the album which shows the thrash influences of the band. The burning for metal, has also a great metal melodic opening, good song with interested lyrics about heavy metal!!! we really liked the chorus and pre-chorus parts of the songs. Rebellion is the true epic metal songs in both lyrics and songs, you get a feeling of a marching army in the battlefields! The Defendant songs opens with a great Drums and BASS playing (liked the intro a lot), it is melodic, symphonic and powerfull! Shine on , reveals another view of the band - a more rockish view (the weakest song of the album) is a happy song which does not match with the rest of the album. and of course for a true metal song you need a ballad song. this is a Skyclad style ballad! the final song Oath of Allegiance it is a memorable way to close a great metal album - liked the acoustic guitar closing!! Epical (9 well what are you waiting for, get a copy of this album now, this is great band supported by pure steel records (Great and True Metal Label) the album if full with melodies, great riffs, great production and a great vocalist! do your selves a favor and add this album to your album collection. 9.5/10 epicmetal.net |

Der Name Dragonsfire strotzt nicht gerade vor Originalität und die Texte auf “Visions Of Fire“ sind oftmals pures Klischee! Damit ist aber alles Negative über den ersten Longplayer der Hessen gesagt, denn musikalisch lässt der Vierer nichts anbrennen und reißt auf neun Stücken ein Feuerwerk an traditionellem, melodischem Heavy Metal ab. Die Party-Stimmung – die Rede ist hier von einer echten Metal-Party – will nie abreißen und wer bei Songs wie „Dragonsfire Rockxx“ und „Burning For Metal“ nicht seine Matte schwingt oder zumindest die Faust gen Himmel reckt und die Refrains lautstark mitgrölt, der wird ein ewiger Hinterbänkler bleiben. Die Götter dieser Schule heißen sicherlich Iron Maiden und Manowar, während die Schulkollegen auf Namen wie Paragon und Iron Savior hören dürften.
Die Rhythmus-Fraktion liefert auf „Visions Of Fire“ einen eng geknüpften Teppich ab, auf dem sich die beiden Gitarristen austoben dürfen und Sänger Thassilo Herbert mit seiner dunklen Stimme die Band-Hymnen in die Hörerschaft schreit. Was ihm dabei möglicherweise an stimmlichem Facettenreichtum fehlt, macht er durch Einsatz und Leidenschaft mehr als wett. Leider fällt die Scheibe in der zweiten Hälfte etwas ab, bevor der Rauswerfer „Oath Of Allegiance“ wieder richtig Dampf macht, was die Band letztendlich einen halben Punkt kostet. Fazit: Wer auf traditionellen Metal mit guten Melodien und klasse Hooklines steht, wird an dieser Scheibe nur schwer vorbeikommen.

DRAGONSFIRE, like DRAGONFORCE? Thankfully, for my ears at least, not. Truth is the ’dragon’ utterance has contributed the most to our beloved music, providing tons of bands, albums, songs and lyrics holding proud high the Metal ideals. Germany’s DRAGONFORCE release their first full-length album (via the auspicious Pure Steel Records label) and let’s see what’s all about.
Germany, speed, riffs, Metal, bray vocals and Teutonic sincerity all the way. DRAGONSFIRE formed in New Year’s Eve 2005; what a better declaration to start the new year? Bassist Torsten Thassilo Herbert handled the lead vocals and - after one male and one female vocalist had come and gone - now remains the voice of the band. DRAGONSFIRE released the "Burning For Metal" demo EP in 2005 and went on to a shitload of gig appearances in their home country. 2008 finds the band releasing a ’normal’ album and - truth is - "Visions Of Fire" will possibly attract your interest if you’re a fan of the sound of bands like...
...GRAVE DIGGER and PARAGON with enough of ACCEPT, SACRED STEEL, POWERGOD and IRON MAIDEN references. Would you categorize them as a ’true’ Metal band? Go ahead, you won’t be that far from the real deal. Still, DRAGONSFIRE’s music does not behold any Power/epic Metal components since it’s 100% Heavy Metal all the way. Of course, being a German band gives you this Teutonic blend that many often misunderstand as becoming ’Euro Power’. Nah, tracks like "Dragonsfire Rockxxx" and "Burning For Metal" shall take no prisoners anyway.
With the instrumentation being kinda typical yet unveiling notable pieces of German Metal music, a critical point is if you can stand Herbert’s vocals. To be honest, first time the CD spinned I kinda despaired listening to the voice. Herbert sings like being a nephew of Udo Dirkschneider, a cousin of Chris Boltendahl and a classmate of teenager Hansi Kursch, all to the power of ten. So, if you cannot stand such singing paths you can as well run away. For the faithful, truth is you’ll have to spend a good time with the album to get used to the vocal parts. Then, logically, you’ll have enough comfort to deal with...
...a bunch of notable Heavy/Teutonic Metal songs the Deutsch way. The guitars/bass/drums sounds is really persuasive and all players are pounding like hell. The riffs are striking and 100% ’German’ in coherence. The leads are to-the-point while at parts there are certain minor climaxes bursting out in support of some harmonic variation. While there’s a tendency for fast tempos in the album, the band is clever enough to fill in with intriguing intermezzos/bridges in order to avoid awaking boredom. The album’s duration helps, too; 45 minutes was the average duration of all 80s Metal masterpieces back then.
Listening again to "Shine On" (a rollin’ tempo track with a captivating opening theme) and "The Other One" (obscurity...), I strongly hope "Visions Of Fire" will be a guest in my CD player in the days/years to come. And that’s a strong report, bearing in mind countless albums are floating around in our days. Credit goes to DRAGONSFIRE, no doubt; they shall not let down the Teutonic Heavy Metal fan.

Da ist es nun, das zweite Schaffenswerk der hessischen Metal-Band Dragonsfire. Es nennt sich „Visions Of Fire“ und wird Fans der härteren Klänge aufhorchen lassen. Flotte, rockig-metallische Tracks, die dennoch melodisch sind und sich einen eigenen Weg bahnen, um nicht mit anderen Metal-Stücken in einen Topf gesteckt zu werden. Bei der Vielzahl an Metal-Bands, die heutzutage im Business versuchen zu überleben, muss man schon seinen eigenen Sound kreieren, um aufzufallen und Bestand zu haben. Das versuchen auch Dragonsfire. Sie wollen auffallen und stehen 100 % hinter ihrer Musik. Wohl nicht umsonst findet sich somit auf ihrem neusten Werk der Track „Dragonsfire Rockxxx“, der ganz nach einer Hymne an sich selbst klingt. „Dragonsfire rockxxx, Dragonsfire everyday. Dragonsfire rockxxx, Dragonsfire is our way” singt Frontmann Thassilo Herbert im Refrain dieses Songs. Schon allein durch seine sehr eigene Stimme schaffen es Dragonsfire, sich ein wenig von anderen Metal-Bands zu lösen. „What do you think is metal?” fragt Thassilo weiterhin, um nur kurz darauf selbst eine Antwort zu liefern. Er nimmt dabei kein Blatt vor den Mund: “Skulls gonna roll. Ass will be kicked, pussy get licked. That´s rock`n`roll!” Und für den scheinen Dragonsfire zu leben. Dunkle Gitarrenwände, ein schnelles Drumming, das sich fast überschlägt, sowie ein flinkes Bassspiel...das macht die Songs der deutschen Metaller aus. Eine Ballade wird man auf „Visions Of Fire“ vergeblich suchen. Eigentlich schade, dass diese Abwechslung fehlt. Dafür gibt es einen klitzekleinen Minuspunkt, der aber durch das gelungene Cover des Albums wieder ausgeglichen wird. Dieses ziert ein Drache aus rot-orangen Flammen, sowie ein einzelnes Auge in der Mitte, das einen anstarrt. Thassilo (Gesang & Bass), Matthias (Gitarre), Timo (Gitarre) und Jan (Schlagzeug) “brennen für Metal”, was sie in ihrem Track „Burning For Metal“ festgehalten, was aber auch einfach das komplette Album unter Beweis stellt. Und dieses gibt es ab dem 5. Dezember 2008 in sämtlichen Plattenläden und beinhaltet insgesamt neun Tracks, die ordentlich krachen. Lediglich der letzte Track „Oath Of Allegiance“, der mit 6:33 Minuten am längsten rockt, klingt zum Ende hin ruhig aus und rundet das Album angenehm ab.
